Obituary for Gregory Heintzeman

Memorial services for Greg Heintzeman, age 54 of Marshall, will be held at 2pm on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Living Word Lutheran Church in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 11AM-2PM on Friday at church.
Greg Heintzeman passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2015 in Marshall.
Gregory Brooks Heintzeman was born in St. Paul, MN on March 12, 1961, the second of three children to Donald and Eleanor (Miller) Heintzeman. Greg attended middle school at Christ the King School in Minneapolis and graduated from Minneapolis Southwest High School in 1979. Upon graduation Greg attended Alexandria Vocational and Technical Institute, obtaining a degree in Marine and Small Engine Mechanics. After completion of his schooling, Greg moved to Canby, Minnesota where he met his future wife, Bonnie. On September 12, 1987 Greg married Bonnie (Spittle) Heintzeman at St. Lucas Lutheran Church in rural Cottonwood. Greg began his working career at Action Sports in Marshall where he worked from 1984-1988. Afterwards he worked for Schwan’s Food Co. for about 18 years. Greg spent the last ten years working as a maintenance supervisor for Ralco Nutrition Inc. in Marshall.
In his free time, Greg enjoyed scuba diving and made frequent trips to many lakes and rivers within northern Minnesota and South Dakota. Greg refused to dive at a place that was not nearby, as he was afraid that it would take away from the beauty of Minnesota’s lakes. He also enjoyed the freedom of riding his motorcycle and driving his 1981 Chevrolet Corvette. If Greg wasn’t diving or riding his motorcycle, he would often be hunting, fishing, or working at Barrels & Arrows. The most important thing to Greg was his family, especially his grandson, Kash. He was also very eager to meet and spend time with his second grandson that will be born this summer.
Greg is survived by his loving wife, Bonnie; daughter, Brooke (Justin) Richards; father, Don Heintzeman; brothers, Jeff (Leslie) Heintzeman and Chris (Joyce) Heintzeman; and many other family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Ellie.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. Casual attire is requested at the memorial services.
A special thanks to all of the friends and family who have shown their support and volunteered to help the Heintzeman family during this difficult time.

Greg truly was a great friend of mine. 7 months passed now since that tragic m/c crash.  My thoughts and prayers for Greg, his wife and family members continue.  Enjoy life daily and appreciate it, and dont take tomorrow for granted.
